Rusty Mac Adopt A Teen

Christmas time is almost here!  As a past supporter of the Rusty Mac Adopt a Teen program, you have made a real difference in the life of the teen(s) you sponsored.  Your help is needed again this year.  You have the power to make the holiday season brighter for teens that would otherwise have little or nothing to smile about during this time of year.

Rusty Mac started this program in 1997 with the vision of providing gifts at Christmas for a group of children that were often left out – teenagers.  My dear friend Conrad Delaney referred to these teens as the forgotten ones.

In 2018, our community suffered a tremendous loss when Conrad passed away.  He and I have worked side by side since Rusty’s death in 2004 to be certain this program continued.  With your help, we will carry it on in both their memories.

Beginning last year, a plan was put in place to expand this program to help teens throughout the year, specifically with school supplies, clothing and other school activities.  This is something Conrad and I have discussed many times, and, in his honor, we named this part of our mission “Conrad’s Good Deeds”.  Rest assured all teens needing sponsorship for Christmas will be taken care of first, then any funds above that will go toward this much-needed addition to the program.  I really think Conrad would be very pleased to know we have expanded the reach of this amazing mission!

This year, we have over 557 teenagers with Christmas wish lists, and we need your help to make those wishes come true.  For $100, you can guarantee one teen feels loved and supported this holiday season.  Or maybe your club, group or fellow employees would like to impact numerous families by sponsoring several teens collectively.  Either way, please know your support creates such joy in the hearts of the Center staff, volunteers and, most importantly, the teenager receiving the gifts.

Following in Rusty’s tradition, Conrad’s precious wife Miss Anne and I are taking the first two teenagers on the list because we would not ask you to do anything that we would not do ourselves.  We hope you will be a part of this special program once again.  If you would like to participate, please contact Keliea McCartney at (731) 668-4000 to make a donation by phone or visit the Center’s website (www.carlperkinscenter.org) for more details.

God Bless,
