The Center’s goal is to remind everyone in our community that every CHILD deserves respect, unconditional love, and a happy childhood.
Our theme for Child Abuse Prevention Month is “A person’s a person, no matter how small”. – Dr Seuss. Our goal is to remind everyone in our community that EVERY CHILD deserves respect, unconditional love, and a happy childhood.
This year we are collecting the Dr. Seuss Books – to give our children. Our hope is that every child will have a book of their own. Dr. Seuss books are fun to read and always carry a special message. One favorite is “The Places You Will Go” that encourages them to look to the future with hope and anticipation of the world before them.
The Dr. Seuss book will be given to the child at the completion of their therapy treatment. Every person that was on the treatment team for that particular child will writes a special message in the book. This makes it very personal and will encourage them for years to come. It will be reminder that they are special and have overcome some big challenges in their lives. They also will be reminded how they are loved and that there is always hope.
Our Goal is to collect 1,000 new or gently used Dr. Seuss books. We are inviting anyone donating a book to write a message of hope to the child receiving the book.
The books can be dropped off at 178 Airways Blvd, 182 Lexington Ave or 213 Cheyenne Drive in Jackson during regular business hours. Those outside of Jackson can find the nearest center location on our website and take their books to them.
The Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse serves 20 counties in West Tennessee and have 22 locations. We served 16,772 individuals last year. We want to invite everyone to join us as we encourage and help these young people on their journey of hope and healing. Donate a book, write a message of hope, and make a difference in the life of a child.
